Bottom Brackets types

Which bottom brackets should I choose?


There are two things in particular that you must be extremely aware of when choosing a new bottom bracket or researching the types you might be interested in:


Thread


You must have complete control over which threads are on your racing bike. The best thing you can do is check what is actually written on the current bottom bracket. This is the way you find the exact and correct thread. There are both so-called BSA threads and ITA threads.


Axle width


The axle width is also decisive. And that covers the width of the axle that goes through the bottom bracket. It's also possible for you to  use the old bottom bracket to learn more. Simply measure the length of your current bottom bracket and find a new one with the same axle width.
